** This post is an introduction to one of our paid color palettes.
Ooh, you’re going to love this color palette! I saw a fashion show on TV the other day which said that Orange and Pink combinations (Coral), are very popular and all the rage. Well wouldn’t you know it… the Day Lilies in my garden, which are normally quite Pumpkin Orange, have mutated slightly and were a very pretty Coral color this year!
Perfect timing! And that Black Violet color of the stamen is the ‘most excellent’ (my 80’s roots are showing) compliment to the Corals I could even imagine.
I can envision lots of wonderful polymer clay beads and techniques made with these colors. How about you?
Soft Melon is the pale coral color of the petal tips of the Day Lily in the photo. Orange Lipstick and Day Lily Coral are the deeper tones towards the center of the flower. And Black Violet is the deep Blackish Purple of the stamens of the blossom that give that punch of color contrast to this gorgeous flower.

Hi Cindy, Sorry I'm being so impatient! I look forward to your videos and recipes. I don't have too many colors mixed up as yet, but am going to do as many of the recipes as possible and make myself the color samples to attach to the cards. That will make it so much easier to choose my colors. Warm regards.

Beautiful colors! I'm glad you can envision colors. Nature is a great source for inspiration and living in Arizona I enjoy the earth tones of the desert, the wonderful colors from our cactus and wildflowers, the color influence from Mexico and of course the sunsets. Trying to duplicate them is a tough one for me. Have you ever considered doing a southwest color palette? Wouldn't it be fun to do a series on colors from around the world, tulips from Holland, the waters of Aruba, colors from the rainforest….! Wow one could stay a wake all night just dreaming up colors. As a very new clayer I find your website very informative, you're a very gifted person.

QUALITY: Hi Cindy, in reply to your question about the jewelry for the art museum that was a tough call because I didn't know what would sell. I took a variety of pieces and every 3 pc. matching set sold both flowery, chunky and mokume gane beads were very popular. People here like matching sets but I also sold some mixed media pieces like domino pendants, the brass bullet bracelet and wire and clay combo's. But much fewer of those individual pieces. What they like here in the Midwest isn't necessarily what they like back East or on the West Coast. What they do want and expect is Quality. I have noticed also that season changes make a difference. In warmer weather most choices are lighter cooler colors and in colder weather they go more for the chunky warmer colors. Multiple colors seem to be more popular than one single color and browns don't seem to sell at all. I think you have done an excellent job of planning your tutorials and the color choices you chose for them have worked extremely well. I have become very astute of jewelry pieces wherever I go, what I watch on TV, magazines I read, following blogs that relate to fashion and jewelry. The very first piece that the Art Museum sold was to a local news anchor and it was a graduated round bead necklace in a mokume gane called "Chaos" with matching earrings. I always name my pieces because it seems to bond with the prospective buyer and they "just have to have it". I don't however think we should forget about the men. I would like to see some fashionable pieces just for them. I plan on taking all of my orphan beads and making earrings, bracelets, pins, or bookmarks with them and have a home sale once a year in the fall after the kids are in school. Never underestimate selling Christmas jewelry in July. I sold all of mine during the month of July!

Beautiful color pallete Cindy! Can hardly wait to get them all!
These are amazing! I love these colors. I love Day Lilies, too. I hope mine mutate just like yours! I got the orangy kind as well.
I second that Laurel!
Wow! Your colors are always beautiful but this time I think you have outdone yourself. Amazing!!
Coral is “my” signature color – I love it!
Unbelievable…. I just mixed a fabulous coral color. Your colors are so pretty.
I love those colours too Cindy! I can hardly wait to give it a try!
Stunning, that’s all I can say. Orange is my fav. to begin with.
This palette of lily colors is spot on. The next door circle has a dedicated gardener who has planted lilies of every size shape and color imaginable.
Just checked the colors this morning…oh, Cindy, the pinks and oranges are perfect, but, wow the black violet is just spot on with hers. It matches the stamens, but also a new variety of lilies she just planted this year. Perfect petal match, just gorgeous.
Thank you for the share.
