** This post is an introduction to one of our paid color palettes.

You don’t need to travel far, to discover something exotic!

Take, for example, this lovely Rhododendron bud that my daughter Willow snapped with her camera, as inspiration for this month’s color palette. There were tons of these buds on the bush that I passed by every day as I headed out the door. But I didn’t notice them… I was waiting for the real flowers to show.

When Willow showed me this shot, I was amazed at it’s enticing beauty. The warm, rich colors reminded me of exotic foods and spices from far off lands. It was the perfect inspiration for a warm Summer/Fall Color Palette.

Gogi Berries is the vibrant Coral Red of a ripe Gogi Berry, found along the ridges of the sepals of this exotic looking Rhododendron Bud. Mustard Seed is the warm dusty mustard yellow, which is the dominant color of the flower bud. Persimmon is the spicy Burnt Orange also found along the edges of the sepals, and Ground Cumin is the soft Tan Green seen in the older outer petals.

I love the names you give your colors Cindy, so descriptive.

I love your colour recipes Cindy. And I love being able to think of an idea involving different colours and knowing I’ll most likely find exactly how to make it in the library. Thanks.

I save your color recipe cards to “my pictures” and then print four recipes on one page which automatically reduces the size. Mine fit in a baby wipes box. Your newsletter makes my Fridays a treat!! Thank you.

Willow your picture says it all. Your parents are so Blessed to have both their children share their love for art with them. I have said for months I would love to buy your Dad’s photos to put with my recipe cards. I enjoy the pictures so much because I actually feel like they are talking to me, giving me inspiration for my jewelry. Now I hear yours speaking some of those same soft beautiful words of encouraging inspiration. Thank you for sharing that with all of us.
