In this video, I review a polymer clay brand manufactured in Brazil. It’s called PV Clay.

Previously known as Bozzi Super Polymer Clay, the manufacturer and developer, Edinho Juliotti, did a complete re-brand of this product… new name… new packaging… and (I believe) improved the formula.

In a previous video, I showed you the flexible polymer clay blades that Edinho also supplies to the polymer clay community. They slice clay beautifully, but won’t cut your skin. Safety and performance in one!

In this video, I will show a little bit about this unique South American clay. It is a little different from the clays you are probably already familiar with.

I will first talk about the packaging… then discuss the properties of the clay… show my raw vs baked color shift analysis… and also do a strength test.

This clay has a bit of a waxy feel with an aroma of flowers and soap (which I happen to love). The clay seems firm off the block, but softens quickly when conditioned. It is quite sticky to the touch, but doesn’t leave much of a residue on your hands or tools. It does trap bubbles fairly easily and plaquing is very visible in the PV translucent clay… although the translucent is quite transparent… with a frosted look.

This clay bakes at 265F or 130C for 30 min. Is very flexible and strong when baked. There is little to no color shift between raw and baked clay. This clay bakes to a matte finish, but sands and buffs to an incredible shine.

The PV Clay brand is very versatile. It can be used for caning, sculpting, jewelry and home decor. There are 43 colors which include many artist based colors, metallic, translucent and fluorescent colors. I think it makes for an excellent high quality, all around clay, and an inexpensive alternative to the other brands of polymer available in the North American market.

00:00:03 –> 00:00:08 Hi guys, its Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and today’s PcT Product Demo, I’m gonna

00:00:08 –> 00:00:11 review the product PV Clay.

00:00:11 –> 00:00:20 And it is a Polymer Clay that is manufactured in Brazil, and you may…if you’ve been around

00:00:20 –> 00:00:28 for a while, you may know it as Bozzi Clay…it used to be manufactured under this name, and

00:00:28 –> 00:00:34 now that the packaging is changed, I think the formula has changed just slightly as well,

00:00:34 –> 00:00:43 and in a previous video, I did show you the Bozzi Flexible Clay Blade, they also have

00:00:43 –> 00:00:50 now… with the new brand, they have the same blade in the PV Clay Blade…and this is the

00:00:50 –> 00:00:56 blade that is flexible but it also is a safety blade, you can’t cut yourself with it… or

00:00:56 –> 00:01:02 at least you’d have to try really hard, but it cuts through clay really nicely, so you

00:01:02 –> 00:01:06 can check that out at the PV Clay site as well.

00:01:06 –> 00:01:11 But I’m gonna show you a little bit about the clay, because it’s different than some

00:01:11 –> 00:01:16 of the clays that you may be familiar with, I’ll first talk about the packaging and a

00:01:16 –> 00:01:22 little bit about the clay, then I’ll talk a little bit about the color shifts between

00:01:22 –> 00:01:27 raw and baked, and then I’ll also just show you a few little samples and show you the

00:01:27 –> 00:01:28 strength and stuff of it.

00:01:28 –> 00:01:35 Now, first of all, as far as the packaging goes, this is what the block of clay looks

00:01:35 –> 00:01:44 like, it is about exactly the same weight and size as a block of Fimo clay, and in fact,

00:01:44 –> 00:01:48 the way it looks inside is pretty similar.

00:01:48 –> 00:01:54 It is…the packaging itself is really kinda unique, it’s a reusable package, this is a

00:01:54 –> 00:02:01 paper outside with a bit of a plastic lining on the inside, so it is protected from the

00:02:01 –> 00:02:08 clay, and then when you slide it out of the package it has this thin plastic coating that

00:02:08 –> 00:02:15 you just…you can leave on the clay, and just cut your piece off, and then you can

00:02:15 –> 00:02:21 wrap it right back up, it just easily wraps back up, and then you can slide it right back

00:02:21 –> 00:02:27 into the package, which is quite a nice little feature.

00:02:27 –> 00:02:37 And this clay itself, it bakes at 265 Fahrenheit or 130 Celsius, and the recommended time is

00:02:37 –> 00:02:41 30 minutes…that’s what I’ve baked all of these at…and whenever you try a new clay,

00:02:41 –> 00:02:47 you should always do it at the recommended temperature and time that the package says,

00:02:47 –> 00:02:52 and then if there’s any tweaking as far as time goes, you can do that later.

00:02:52 –> 00:02:59 Now the clay is really interesting, it has a bit…it feels quite firm when you get it…

00:02:59 –> 00:03:06 first cut it, but when you start working it…and this piece I’ve worked a little earlier, it

00:03:06 –> 00:03:13 gets really, really soft, now it’s not a mushy kind of soft like some of the clays like Craft

00:03:13 –> 00:03:20 Smart or one of those clays, it is just a softer version… little bit more like Pardo

00:03:20 –> 00:03:27 Clay, if you’ve ever used that, it seems to me like it might be more wax based than some

00:03:27 –> 00:03:34 of the other clays, it also is kind of sticky, so I find that the surface itself is quite

00:03:34 –> 00:03:41 sticky, especially when it starts getting really warm or if it’s…you know, you’ve

00:03:41 –> 00:03:44 been working with it quite a bit.

00:03:44 –> 00:03:50 The other really interesting thing about it is that it is…it is the smell, now some

00:03:50 –> 00:03:55 clays, they smell…they have a really faint smell, some smell like plastic, some have

00:03:55 –> 00:03:59 a really strong smell like Kato Poly Clay for example, has a strong vinyl kinda smell

00:03:59 –> 00:04:07 to it, but this clay, it smells… for me, it smells exactly like those little decorative

00:04:07 –> 00:04:12 flower soaps that my grandma used to put in her guest bathroom and then she never let

00:04:12 –> 00:04:20 us use them, it smells like flowers and soap, if you can imagine that smell and I actually

00:04:20 –> 00:04:24 really like it, it’s the only clay that I’ve ever been around where I actually really like

00:04:24 –> 00:04:30 the smell of the clay, so that is interesting about it.

00:04:30 –> 00:04:35 There are…what other things about it…it comes in lots and lots of colors, these are

00:04:35 –> 00:04:41 the colors that Edinho sent me….he’s the manufacturer, and I’ve known him basically

00:04:41 –> 00:04:50 online for a while now, and he sent me just a small sampling of their colors, and they

00:04:50 –> 00:04:54 have… from what I can tell on the website, they have 43 different colors.

00:04:54 –> 00:05:02 They range in…you know, your regular solid colors as well as metallics and translucents,

00:05:02 –> 00:05:08 even some really bright fluorescent colors and a glow in the dark.

00:05:08 –> 00:05:16 They are…most of the colors are more based along the lines of artist based colors, you

00:05:16 –> 00:05:23 can see that…being from Brazil, they have…the packaging is all in Portuguese, that is the

00:05:23 –> 00:05:28 language that they speak there, Tangerina is probably the only one of the color names

00:05:28 –> 00:05:33 that I can actually pronounce, some of them are very difficult, I’m not very familiar

00:05:33 –> 00:05:37 with Portuguese, so my pronunciation would be atrocious if I tried to pronounce all of

00:05:37 –> 00:05:44 these names, so when I rolled them out here, I just wrote down the names and the numbers

00:05:44 –> 00:05:46 if you wanted to know what they were.

00:05:46 –> 00:05:54 Now I’ve got these samples baked out…I’ve got a row of raw and a row of baked chips

00:05:54 –> 00:05:59 here, same with here, this one’s a row of raw clay and this is baked clay, and you can

00:05:59 –> 00:06:07 see with the comparison side by side that there is almost zero color shift between the

00:06:07 –> 00:06:09 raw clay and the baked clay.

00:06:09 –> 00:06:16 The only one that I can see any difference at all with the colors is just a tiny bit

00:06:16 –> 00:06:24 darkening on the White, and then I don’t see any darkening in any of these colors here…any

00:06:24 –> 00:06:28 of these Yellows, the Greens, he didn’t send me any Blues but I know they have lots of

00:06:28 –> 00:06:30 Blues and things like that.

00:06:30 –> 00:06:41 And then in here, I didn’t see any color shift at all, this here is the color Branco Translucido,

00:06:41 –> 00:06:47 something like that, so it’s their White Translucent, you can see there is a color shift here, and

00:06:47 –> 00:06:50 that’s pretty common with most of the Translucents.

00:06:50 –> 00:06:57 This is a fairly thick piece of Translucent clay…it’s rolled out a number 4 on my Atlas

00:06:57 –> 00:07:02 pasta machine which is about 3 playing cards thick, one of the things you can see here

00:07:02 –> 00:07:08 is that there is a fair amount of what they call plaquing, and so there’s these kinda

00:07:08 –> 00:07:18 moon shaped little flecks in the clay, that happens with a lot of brands, some are really…do

00:07:18 –> 00:07:20 it a lot and some brands don’t.

00:07:20 –> 00:07:26 It happens if… when air gets trapped in there or moisture, it can have a really cool

00:07:26 –> 00:07:30 effect if you’re doing a lot of Faux Stones and that kind of thing, you can try to avoid

00:07:30 –> 00:07:33 it but its fairly common.

00:07:33 –> 00:07:39 Now here is a really thin piece of the same White Translucent…and I’ll show you up here

00:07:39 –> 00:07:44 so that you can see a little bit better, you can see that…now I’ve rolled it at the

00:07:44 –> 00:07:50 thinnest setting on my pasta machine, and then just stretched it as far as I could get

00:07:50 –> 00:07:56 it, so it’s just like a really, really, really thin…thinner than paper, probably, and you

00:07:56 –> 00:08:02 can see it has kind of a frosted look to it, it’s not super translucent…or clear but

00:08:02 –> 00:08:06 if you hold it up against something, like some printing like this, you can see that

00:08:06 –> 00:08:08 you can see through it really quite well.

00:08:08 –> 00:08:15 So you can do a lot of the…it would work great as a background for, you know, flower

00:08:15 –> 00:08:21 canes, any of the techniques where you have a really thin protective layer of translucence

00:08:21 –> 00:08:23 over top it would work quite well.

00:08:23 –> 00:08:30 Now to compare a thicker sheet here of the Translucent, you can still see through it,

00:08:30 –> 00:08:36 but the thicker it gets, the more frosted it kinda gets, especially if here’s a lot

00:08:36 –> 00:08:38 of mooning and that kind of thing in there.

00:08:38 –> 00:08:45 Now I’ve also got just a sample here I wanted to test to see what its flexibility and strength

00:08:45 –> 00:08:51 is, as you can see obviously with this really, really thin piece, it’s very, very flexible,

00:08:51 –> 00:08:56 and with this piece here… it’s about 3 playing cards thick, let’s just test it out to see

00:08:56 –> 00:08:58 its strength.

00:08:58 –> 00:09:05 It looks very flexible and not brittle, even baked for only the half an hour, let’s see

00:09:05 –> 00:09:14 if I can actually force it to break…well, not very easily, so this looks… is a very

00:09:14 –> 00:09:23 strong clay, and I can’t break it, so even at baked for a half an hour, it is a very

00:09:23 –> 00:09:26 strong flexible clay.

00:09:26 –> 00:09:34 Now when it’s baked into like a cabochon like this, and much thicker, you can see that it

00:09:34 –> 00:09:40 is quite hard, so it’s really going to work for a lot of your applications whether you

00:09:40 –> 00:09:46 want to use it for something thin or thick.

00:09:46 –> 00:09:51 Now this piece here, I just fooled around for a little bit, I haven’t had a chance to

00:09:51 –> 00:09:56 do… make much with this clay yet, but I did make like a little tiny miniature cane

00:09:56 –> 00:10:02 with it…kind of a really fine line, kinda string art style cane, and you can see that

00:10:02 –> 00:10:07 it worked quite well for the caning, and then I just put it together in a couple of sheets

00:10:07 –> 00:10:12 that I laminated…or not laminated, but you know put side by side.

00:10:12 –> 00:10:17 This piece here was sanded and buffed, and you can see… there’s no wax or anything

00:10:17 –> 00:10:22 on it, so it’s got a…it can polish up to a very high shine which is really nice

00:10:22 –> 00:10:24 to see.

00:10:24 –> 00:10:30 The back side… which is unfinished by the way, you can see, I didn’t do anything, or

00:10:30 –> 00:10:36 sand it or do anything to it at all, and it is quite matte when it’s baked, so that is

00:10:36 –> 00:10:39 interesting.

00:10:39 –> 00:10:46 What else can I tell you about it, oh the, they have metallics that seem to have a lot

00:10:46 –> 00:10:52 of Mica colors…Mica powders in them, so that you could do a lot of the Mica shift

00:10:52 –> 00:10:58 techniques and that type of thing, he has tons and tons of colors and all kinds of different

00:10:58 –> 00:10:59 things.

00:10:59 –> 00:11:09 Now his website is pvclay.com.br for Brazil, and the prices seem to be really good, now

00:11:09 –> 00:11:16 I haven’t bought anything from Brazil…he sent these samples to me, and so I don’t know

00:11:16 –> 00:11:23 about his shipping and all that, but the…for…and the pricing seems to be a little bit different

00:11:23 –> 00:11:28 depending on the colors, and that’s really common if you’re buying like art supplies

00:11:28 –> 00:11:34 such as oil paints or acrylic…expensive acrylic paints, they can…the price will

00:11:34 –> 00:11:39 sometimes vary according to the color and I see that he’s done that too.

00:11:39 –> 00:11:40 Hi guys, its Cindy Lietz, your Polymer Clay Tutor, and today’s PcT Product Demo, I’m gonna

00:11:40 –> 00:11:41 review the product PV Clay. And it is a Polymer Clay that is manufactured in Brazil, and you

00:11:41 –> 00:11:42 may…if you’ve been around for a while, you may know it as Bozzi Clay…it used to be

00:11:42 –> 00:11:43 manufactured under this name, and now that the packaging is changed, I think the formula

00:11:43 –> 00:11:44 has changed just slightly as well, and in a previous video, I did show you the Bozzi

00:11:44 –> 00:11:45 Flexible Clay Blade, they also have now… with the new brand, they have the same blade

00:11:45 –> 00:11:46 in the PV Clay Blade…and this is the blade that is flexible but it also is a safety blade,

00:11:46 –> 00:11:47 you can’t cut yourself with it… or at least you’d have to try really hard, but it cuts

00:11:47 –> 00:11:48 through clay really nicely, so you can check that out at the PV Clay site as well. But

00:11:48 –> 00:11:49 I’m gonna show you a little bit about the clay, because it’s different than some of

00:11:49 –> 00:11:50 the clays that you may be familiar with, I’ll first talk about the packaging and a little

00:11:50 –> 00:11:51 bit about the clay, then I’ll talk a little bit about the color shifts between raw and

00:11:51 –> 00:11:52 baked, and then I’ll also just show you a few little samples and show you the strength

00:11:52 –> 00:11:53 and stuff of it. Now, first of all, as far as the packaging goes, this is what the block

00:11:53 –> 00:11:54 of clay looks like, it is about exactly the same weight and size as a block of Fimo clay,

00:11:54 –> 00:11:55 and in fact, the way it looks inside is pretty similar. It is…the packaging itself is really

00:11:55 –> 00:11:56 kinda unique, it’s a reusable package, this is a paper outside with a bit of a plastic

00:11:56 –> 00:11:57 lining on the inside, so it is protected from the clay, and then when you slide it out of

00:11:57 –> 00:11:58 the package it has this thin plastic coating that you just…you can leave on the clay,

00:11:58 –> 00:11:59 and just cut your piece off, and then you can wrap it right back up, it just easily

00:11:59 –> 00:12:00 wraps back up, and then you can slide it right back into the package, which is quite a nice

00:12:00 –> 00:12:01 little feature. And this clay itself, it bakes at 265 Fahrenheit or 130 Celsius, and the

00:12:01 –> 00:12:02 recommended time is 30 minutes…that’s what I’ve baked all of these at…and whenever

00:12:02 –> 00:12:03 you try a new clay, you should always do it at the recommended temperature and time that

00:12:03 –> 00:12:04 the package says, and then if there’s any tweaking as far as time goes, you can do that

00:12:04 –> 00:12:05 later. Now the clay is really interesting, it has a bit…it feels quite firm when you

00:12:05 –> 00:12:06 get it… first cut it, but when you start working it…and this piece I’ve worked a

00:12:06 –> 00:12:07 little earlier, it gets really, really soft, now it’s not a mushy kind of soft like some

00:12:07 –> 00:12:08 of the clays like Craft Smart or one of those clays, it is just a softer version… little

00:12:08 –> 00:12:09 bit more like Pardo Clay, if you’ve ever used that, it seems to me like it might be more

00:12:09 –> 00:12:10 wax based than some of the other clays, it also is kind of sticky, so I find that the

00:12:10 –> 00:12:11 surface itself is quite sticky, especially when it starts getting really warm or if it’s…you

00:12:11 –> 00:12:12 know, you’ve been working with it quite a bit. The other really interesting thing about

00:12:12 –> 00:12:13 it is that it is…it is the smell, now some clays, they smell…they have a really faint

00:12:13 –> 00:12:14 smell, some smell like plastic, some have a really strong smell like Kato Poly Clay

00:12:14 –> 00:12:15 for example, has a strong vinyl kinda smell to it, but this clay, it smells… for me,

00:12:15 –> 00:12:16 it smells exactly like those little decorative flower soaps that my grandma used to put in

00:12:16 –> 00:12:17 her guest bathroom and then she never let us use them, it smells like flowers and soap,

00:12:17 –> 00:12:18 if you can imagine that smell and I actually really like it, it’s the only clay that I’ve

00:12:18 –> 00:12:19 ever been around where I actually really like the smell of the clay, so that is interesting

00:12:19 –> 00:12:20 about it. There are…what other things about it…it comes in lots and lots of colors,

00:12:20 –> 00:12:21 these are the colors that Edinho sent me….he’s the manufacturer, and I’ve known him basically

00:12:21 –> 00:12:22 online for a while now, and he sent me just a small sampling of their colors, and they

00:12:22 –> 00:12:23 have… from what I can tell on the website, they have 43 different colors. They range

00:12:23 –> 00:12:24 in…you know, your regular solid colors as well as metallics and translucents, even some

00:12:24 –> 00:12:25 really bright fluorescent colors and a glow in the dark. They are…most of the colors

00:12:25 –> 00:12:26 are more based along the lines of artist based colors, you can see that…being from Brazil,

00:12:26 –> 00:12:27 they have…the packaging is all in Portuguese, that is the language that they speak there,

00:12:27 –> 00:12:28 Tangerina is probably the only one of the color names that I can actually pronounce,

00:12:28 –> 00:12:29 some of them are very difficult, I’m not very familiar with Portuguese, so my pronunciation

00:12:29 –> 00:12:30 would be atrocious if I tried to pronounce all of these names, so when I rolled them

00:12:30 –> 00:12:31 out here, I just wrote down the names and the numbers if you wanted to know what they

00:12:31 –> 00:12:32 were. Now I’ve got these samples baked out…I’ve got a row of raw and a row of baked chips

00:12:32 –> 00:12:33 here, same with here, this one’s a row of raw clay and this is baked clay, and you can

00:12:33 –> 00:12:34 see with the comparison side by side that there is almost zero color shift between the

00:12:34 –> 00:12:35 raw clay and the baked clay. The only one that I can see any difference at all with

00:12:35 –> 00:12:36 the colors is just a tiny bit darkening on the White, and then I don’t see any darkening

00:12:36 –> 00:12:37 in any of these colors here…any of these Yellows, the Greens, he didn’t send me any

00:12:37 –> 00:12:38 Blues but I know they have lots of Blues and things like that. And then in here, I didn’t

00:12:38 –> 00:12:39 see any color shift at all, this here is the color Branco Translucido, something like that,

00:12:39 –> 00:12:40 so it’s their White Translucent, you can see there is a color shift here, and that’s pretty

00:12:40 –> 00:12:41 common with most of the Translucents. This is a fairly thick piece of Translucent clay…it’s

00:12:41 –> 00:12:42 rolled out a number 4 on my Atlas pasta machine which is about 3 playing cards thick, one

00:12:42 –> 00:12:43 of the things you can see here is that there is a fair amount of what they call plaquing,

00:12:43 –> 00:12:44 and so there’s these kinda moon shaped little flecks in the clay, that happens with a lot

00:12:44 –> 00:12:45 of brands, some are really…do it a lot and some brands don’t. It happens if… when air

00:12:45 –> 00:12:46 gets trapped in there or moisture, it can have a really cool effect if you’re doing

00:12:46 –> 00:12:47 a lot of Faux Stones and that kind of thing, you can try to avoid it but its fairly common.

00:12:47 –> 00:12:48 Now here is a really thin piece of the same White Translucent…and I’ll show you up here

00:12:48 –> 00:12:49 so that you can see a little bit better, you can see that…now I’ve rolled it at the

00:12:49 –> 00:12:50 thinnest setting on my pasta machine, and then just stretched it as far as I could get

00:12:50 –> 00:12:51 it, so it’s just like a really, really, really thin…thinner than paper, probably, and you

00:12:51 –> 00:12:52 can see it has kind of a frosted look to it, it’s not super translucent…or clear but

00:12:52 –> 00:12:53 if you hold it up against something, like some printing like this, you can see that

00:12:53 –> 00:12:54 you can see through it really quite well. So you can do a lot of the…it would work

00:12:54 –> 00:12:55 great as a background for, you know, flower canes, any of the techniques where you have

00:12:55 –> 00:12:56 a really thin protective layer of translucence over top it would work quite well. Now to

00:12:56 –> 00:12:57 compare a thicker sheet here of the Translucent, you can still see through it, but the thicker

00:12:57 –> 00:12:58 it gets, the more frosted it kinda gets, especially if here’s a lot of mooning and that kind of

00:12:58 –> 00:12:59 thing in there. Now I’ve also got just a sample here I wanted to test to see what its flexibility

00:12:59 –> 00:13:00 and strength is, as you can see obviously with this really, really thin piece, it’s

00:13:00 –> 00:13:01 very, very flexible, and with this piece here… it’s about 3 playing cards thick, let’s just

00:13:01 –> 00:13:02 test it out to see its strength. It looks very flexible and not brittle, even baked

00:13:02 –> 00:13:03 for only the half an hour, let’s see if I can actually force it to break…well, not

00:13:03 –> 00:13:04 very easily, so this looks… is a very strong clay, and I can’t break it, so even at baked

00:13:04 –> 00:13:05 for a half an hour, it is a very strong flexible clay. Now when it’s baked into like a cabochon

00:13:05 –> 00:13:06 like this, and much thicker, you can see that it is quite hard, so it’s really going to

00:13:06 –> 00:13:07 work for a lot of your applications whether you want to use it for something thin or thick.

00:13:07 –> 00:13:08 Now this piece here, I just fooled around for a little bit, I haven’t had a chance to

00:13:08 –> 00:13:09 do… make much with this clay yet, but I did make like a little tiny miniature cane

00:13:09 –> 00:13:10 with it…kind of a really fine line, kinda string art style cane, and you can see that

00:13:10 –> 00:13:11 it worked quite well for the caning, and then I just put it together in a couple of sheets

00:13:11 –> 00:13:12 that I laminated…or not laminated, but you know put side by side. This piece here was

00:13:12 –> 00:13:13 sanded and buffed, and you can see… there’s no wax or anything on it, so it’s got a…it

00:13:13 –> 00:13:14 can polish up to a very high shine which is really nice to see. The back side… which

00:13:14 –> 00:13:15 is unfinished by the way, you can see, I didn’t do anything, or sand it or do anything to

00:13:15 –> 00:13:16 it at all, and it is quite matte when it’s baked, so that is interesting. What else can

00:13:16 –> 00:13:17 I tell you about it, oh the, they have metallics that seem to have a lot of Mica colors…Mica

00:13:17 –> 00:13:18 powders in them, so that you could do a lot of the Mica shift techniques and that type

00:13:18 –> 00:13:19 of thing, he has tons and tons of colors and all kinds of different things. Now his website

00:13:19 –> 00:13:20 is pvclay.com.br for Brazil, and the prices seem to be really good, now I haven’t bought

00:13:20 –> 00:13:21 anything from Brazil…he sent these samples to me, and so I don’t know about his shipping

00:13:21 –> 00:13:22 and all that, but the…for…and the pricing seems to be a little bit different depending

00:13:22 –> 00:13:23 on the colors, and that’s really common if you’re buying like art supplies such as oil

00:13:23 –> 00:13:24 paints or acrylic…expensive acrylic paints, they can…the price will sometimes vary according

00:13:24 –> 00:13:25 to the color and I see that he’s done that too. But for a solid regular color, it is

00:13:25 –> 00:13:26 6 …I don’t know if you pronounce it ‘Real’ or ‘Rayal’, or however you pronounce it,

00:13:26 –> 00:13:27 but the currency in Brazil is R e a l, and it’s 6 of those, and they’re…if you divide

00:13:27 –> 00:13:28 it by 4 is what it would cost you in American dollars, so it basically is about a $1.50

00:13:28 –> 00:13:29 for most of the colors, and then it goes up to 8 Real or 8.25 or something for some of

00:13:29 –> 00:13:30 the other colors with the metallic and that type of thing, so the prices are really quite

00:13:30 –> 00:13:31 cheap for the size. I think for a lot of you international people that have…that America

00:13:31 –> 00:13:32 might be too far for you to order products from, I think this is a very versatile clay,

00:13:32 –> 00:13:33 it’s a little…the properties of it are a little bit different than some of the other

00:13:33 –> 00:13:34 ones that are out there, but it looks…to polish up nice, it’s hard, it’s flexible,

00:13:34 –> 00:13:35 it’s strong, it comes in tons of colors. I haven’t done a ton of color mixing but I did

00:13:35 –> 00:13:36 just sort of blend them together and they seem to blend together really quite nice,

00:13:36 –> 00:13:37 the Translucent is very workable as far as its translucency, and the smell is really

00:13:37 –> 00:13:38 great, I just love it, so make sure to check out PV Clay. They also have a Facebook page,

00:13:38 –> 00:13:39 PV Clay Polymer Clay on Facebook, so you can check them out there and see what you think,

00:13:39 –> 00:13:40 alright? So I hope that was helpful for you and that you learned something new about this

00:13:40 –> 00:13:41 interesting clay. And if you have a product that you would like me to test…you’d like

00:13:41 –> 00:13:42 to learn more about it, leave me a suggestion in the comment section below. If you have

00:13:42 –> 00:13:43 techniques that you would like to learn about, you should…make sure to check through…do

00:13:43 –> 00:13:45 a search through all of our videos, we have done tons and tons of them and it’s a pretty

00:13:45 –> 00:13:50 good chance that we’ve already answered your question, but if not, you could leave another

00:13:50 –> 00:13:58 suggestion in the comment section below as well. So we will see you next time and bye

00:13:58 –> 00:13:58 for now.

No further questions. Solved the problem w/rubber bands on my golf clubs to enlarge the grip. Now, just hope I can access the studio web cam!

  • Dotty Cooper says:

Would Premo! black, 1 – 2mm thick strands be as flexible as the PVCLAY just filmed. What I want to do is crochet around the handles of my golf clubs to thicken the grip because of hand problems. Pro Shops have no solution (I still think they don’t like women golfers!) I first thought of rubber, spaghetti like strands (not much slippage with them but, where to find them?!) Just had a brilliant thought!! What about rubber bands? Anyway, today’s your day for goofy questions!

Hugs to You Both for all that you do for all of us!!

  • Our local Michaels store has been trimming down the clay section. I’m so disappointed! all the Lisa Pavelkar stuff and the transfers etc are all gone. A new store has opened up closer to where I live and they don’t have any Premo clay – just smart clay. I have to go back and check the other store and see if the have stopped keeping Premo too. If they have, will have to buy online and with the dollar so low and shipping charges, it’s going to be very expensive.

    • Geez that sucks Cheryl! My store in Surrey has quite a bit of polymer clay, Premo, Fimo, SculpeyIII and Craftsmart. (Plus lots of the other air dry clays and such. I hope that doesn’t happen here.

      • Yes, it sucks! I used to use the coupons at Michaels or buy stuff on sale and it was so much cheaper.

        • Wow, I hope Michaels isn’t weeding out Premo! So, far the three store near me are still selling it. I will try to find out what is going on. Craftsmart is Michaels brand and not good to use for serious clayers. I wonder if they are making room for Souffle? I know Joanns is selling Souffle and reduced Premo. It will be terrible if you have to order it by mail. The summer will not be good to order, either.

          • Went to the old store yesterday, the one that is farther. They still had Premo but not very many colors. They had a lot of Craftsmart.

    • Anna Sabina says:

Great there are other clay options for people in South America. It sounds similar to Pardo.

I have a new smaller Michael’s by me and they do not carry Premo at all. I have not seem Souffle at Michael’s s and figures they do not want to any more competition for Craft Smart,. I have also noticed the price of Premo at Michaels and JoAnn’s has really gone up. Michael’s used to have 4 packs for $5.00, and once a year they had it for $1.00 per package. Michael’s, JoAnn’s and Hobby Lobby all have a nice Premo display but the colors never seem to be in stock. I am looking at ordering online in the future because the clay in these stores is so hard like it has been cured during delivery to the store.

  • This clay looks wonderful. I shall visit their site now. Thank you Cindy.

oh yeah…….please show a close up of the the earrings you are wearing in this video.

    Thank you,
    Peggy

  • Jocelyn C says:

K, I am ready to go…..lol. First up, must return to my first love, the Aurora Borealis and Cindy’s magnificent tute on it. And I think the rocker bead tute is the way to go to fully expose the beautiful shimmers. But, I also want to try to somehow incorporate the effect into those cool torpedo beads (see Cindy’s tute) too. Wish me luck kids. LOL!

    • Good Luck Jocelyn!! I think Aurora Torpedo Beads is an awesome combination of tutorials. Can’t wait to hear how they turn out! Have fun!

  • Sarah Wood says:

Tried to make a purchase and got hung up at shipping– said there was no option (at all) for shipping at that time. No shipping to US or just to Texas :) ? Maybe it was a glitch, I will try again.

    • Hi Sarah, sorry to hear you’re having trouble ordering from PVClay. I sent a message to Edinho for him to respond to you here. Hopefully he will come in here soon and help you out.

  • Catalina L says:

That’s cool that it still has a flowery/soap scent after baking. I might have try this!

I didn’t find the sign. I asked everyone I came in contact with and everyone said they never saw that sign before. I think it may have been destroyed in the 1965 earthquake. Plus, if it did survive it may have been removed due to the fact that they renamed the base. It is now called, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

Because President Obama was in Anchorage, when we were, there were tons of security all over. I asked a police officer outside our hotel about the sign. He said he was stationed at Elmendorf 30 years ago and never saw the sign. My photo is over 55 years old. So, we didn’t try to go to the Base. It would be so different anyway since my Dad was stationed. So, we saw no point in going.

I did get my Eskimo doll! I want to make a doll out of clay now!! Plus, try to make some faux whale ivory carvings!! We got several pieces including a heart shaped ring! I want to see if I can make a ring like it out of clay. Have you thought about making rings out of clay? I wonder how they will hold up?

  • Catalina L says:

This clay looks cool. Does the clay still smell flowery after it is baked? And is the sanding time about the same as Premo? And the “string” cane on your sample going to be in a tute soon? I really like the look of it! I haven’t played with my clay since I came back from vacation! But, today I will be able to! I got a lot of ideas from the Native Alaskans so I can’t wait to play!

    • Hi Catalina, It does still smell like flowers and soap when it is baked, though it is pretty faint. As far as the String art cane goes, I haven’t got a tutorial figured out for it yet. I noticed that String Art had come back into vogue… saw example of it all over Pinterest… so I played around with the concept a little for making a cane. Did a search on String Art Canes to see if anyone else had thought of the idea and low and behold, Meg Newburg had! So if I do go ahead with the concept I will have to make sure that my cane is different that than hers… already is but will have to make sure that everyone else thinks so too. Too busy right now working on the site anyway, so it won’t be for quite a while if I do end up making a tute on it. Love to see what you come up with after that Alaskan trip inspiration. Was that sign you were looking for still there?

  • Jocelyn C says:

Wow, loved this video and topic. So cool to see it spread across the world…. And now, if I stumble on a pack of it at a tag sale, I know enough about it to give it a try.

Dying for the next multistep PROJECT, very badly. Starting to question my addiction level here (hee hee).

I start crafting (if you could call it that…) shortly next week. I need inspiration to plunge in and immerse from there. Polymer Clay is first on the list.

If anyone has an idea, using one of Cindy’s PCT tutes or favorite short project of yours all that I can plunge in and immerse, and if would be great if it was your take on one of Cindy’s projects here (so there are good directions, lol).

It would be fun to see what you would all suggest…..

    Hope all are well…

    • Hey Jocelyn, You have all the tutorials… why don’t you pick one of the older ones and just go for it! I am sure once you get rolling with it, you will come up with your own twists. Let us know which one you pick Eh?
