Falling Color Palette-079 (Premo)
Includes 4 Premo Sculpey Color Recipes: — Falling — Changing — Shifting — Drifting.

** This post is an introduction to one of our paid color palettes.
I know that for a lot of you, Fall is over… the fallen leaves are long gone and snow has covered the landscape. Winter, although not official quite yet, definitely feels like it has arrived!
Or maybe you are reading from the Southern Hemisphere, where Spring is just wrapping up and Summer is on its way in?
In either case, December is not the typical time of the year for a palette created with a Fall colored Maple Leaf photo that Doug captured on one of his many walks.
But this leaf, with its moody neutral tones, speaks to me as a lovely palette for Winter. Just the image of a season falling and drifting into the next, seemed the perfect theme for this upcoming color recipe palette.
Falling is a deep maroon red, changed by the dropping temperatures imposed on the fallen leaf. Changing is a dusted red-tan neutral shade of nature giving in to the cold. Shifting is the paler shade of dusted peach as it shifts from youth to old age. And Drifting is the soft gray purple hue of the late season light on the surface of the leaf as it drifts to the ground and returns to the Earth.

I love these color recipes! I am behind in making the color chips but I usually make them as I use them. Sometimes I make up several palettes when I want to play with my clay but don’t know what I want to make. Seeing the colors in person inspires my creativity!

What a beautiful photo, It looks as though it should be framed and hung on a wall. I appreciate your color recipes for so much more than just mixing new clay colors… I struggle with color in every aspect it can be used!!!!!! From painting my walls to designing new pieces of jewelry and everything in between!!! I just wanted to say Thank You for these color recipes (I call them COLOR RESCUES). Currently I am working on a jewelry piece, as part of a design challenge, and your color recipes gave me the fourth color I was struggling to add for some dimension!!!! Thanks AGAIN for all the great information you and your family provide all of us for such an AWESOME PRICE!!!! Anyone on the fence about signing up for the membership ~ This site is about ALOT MORE than polymer clay and they don’t really know what they are missing!!

The names are very poetic, Cindy! I always look forward to your color recipe creations : )
Thank you Maria! It can be tricky to come up with the names for the color palettes. Sometimes I just have to think more creatively. When I do, they often sound a little like poetry. I am glad you like that! :)
