Production of my polymer clay jewelry making classes and cane design courses is going to come to a grinding halt for the next few days. It’s summer. I’ve been working really hard. The family is restless. So it’s time to take a short GREEN break and head for the hills.
Actually we’ve decided to pack up the minivan and do some beach camping on this trip. Our beautiful province of British Columbia has so much to offer when you really want to get away.
Thankfully we have friends who can house sit. But I know asking them to also manage my blog would be expecting way too much. So when your comments and questions don’t get answered or moderated immediately over the next few days, don’t fret. I’ll be back.

I even forgot I asked this questions. LOL. I mixed up my own colors for the piece that I made for my daughter -in-law. It turned out very nice.
No problem, I thought I was going crazy or some colors had been discontinued.

It appears I made some typos. Both the Emerald and the Fleshtone are Fimo Colors… not Premo. I am sorry about that. Was entering a lot of old written down recipes and it looks like I typed in the wrong brand. I’ve corrected the info on the recipe cards now. Thanks so much for pointing this out!
I went and pruchased all the Premo colors to mix up your color formulas but for two I could not find, I was checking online for these colors also and still can’t find Fleshtone or Emerald Green in Premo clay. They show up in formulas 002-2b Aged Bronze and 006-4b Porcelain Skin, are these colors you can get in Canada and we can’t in the states or are you using one of your other color formulas in a new one?
Black will work but also try adding a touch of Alizarin Crimson (Red) to your mix Sue. It may just ‘mud’ it up enough to become Sage.

When I decided to revisit polymer clay this summer (I had a false start several summers ago, but this time I am ready!), I bought 2 bricks of green – I love green, it’s the Irish in me, and I love the many shades of green that form the patchwork of Ireland, as it appears from the sky. The idea of using recipes to create complementary and contrasting shades of green is just so joyous!
Ive got to be more systematic in my color mixing so I can save the recipes! Here is one I’ve not been able to accomplish – SAGE GREEN – because it isn’t just green and white and I can’t quite figure out the third color – a touch of black?
I’ve copied all of your recipes from throughout your site and anxiously await more!

@Loretta Carstensen: Just saw this comment…did you ever find the recipes you needed, Loretta? If so, were they Cindy’s, or did you mix up these colors on your own?
I like the idea of a thread where people can request & share color recipes (as long as no one publishes Cindy’s recipes, of course – it’s bad enough that someone “stole” them awhile back!) I don’t know if this is a good place for it, but it would be nice to have one place to go for our “homemade” recipes…
