Halloween Jewelry Ideas Made With Polymer Clay Beads and Canes

The answer is yes, Lisa, I will teach the Pirate Cane at some point. But unfortunately not quite yet. Something weird happened this year. Seems as though time went twice as fast as usual. And many of the things I wanted to get done by now, simply have not happened yet. Anyone else having this not-enough-hours-in-the-day problem? Or is it just me?

This was especially the case with the Halloween Beads and Canes I had planned to teach you. In September when I should have been filming for Halloween, the kids were heading back to school and my mind was still holding on to Summer.

Then, when October hit, and it dawned on me that it was going to be Fall and Halloween, it was too late. The videos had already been planned and were in production. I’m sorry about that.

I would like is some holiday bead tutorials, such as Halloween beads, Christmas beads etc. Like beads/canes with a holiday theme to make holiday jewelry with. Possibly you did these tutorials before I was a member? Love your site and everything you do.

Since some of you have been asking for Halloween Bead and Jewelry tutorials, I thought today I would at least provide you with links to some archived Halloween inspired articles and pics. If you haven’t already seen them (and even if you have), hopefully they will give you some ideas for this year.

YES!  Thank you so much.  I am going to print out this Polymer Clay Brand Chart and hang it by my little working table.  I’m sure it will save me a few dollars in experimenting… although experimenting is quite fun.  I am now trying a Halloween mixture of Sculpey III with ecru and two different oranges and I’m trying to marble the look, instead of just making your basic ick-mess color!   • Between work, my shows it seems like the day is over before it has begun, we’ve got to have a talk with those scientists folk and get them to add a few more hours to the day, wait a minute there are six hours a day that I’m not doing anything. I’m horizontal with my eyes closed sleeping, good grief what a slacker I am.

    Cindy don’t worry about not getting the autumn and Halloween vids finished for this year, you’re just that much farther ahead for next year.

  • Anna the spray is called Preserve Your Memories II (PYMII) and it is actually an American product, so it is definitely available to you through Precision Blue. The confusion probably comes from the fact that it used to not be available in Canada. It is now, through shadesofclay.com

    I love this spray! It works so well for clay, metals and just about everything else including paper. You can spray it right over a finished piece of jewelry to seal it and get a beautiful sheen. Don’t use any other sprays since most are not compatible with polymer clay and will get sticky over time.

    Especially when you have young kids. My life got much busier as my kids got older, until they started driving themselves around.Cindy, I am so glad you went on that vacation and spent time together as a family. Your PC “family” got to enjoy some of the beautiful pictures and you came up with a new color palette.
    No worries about missing the Pirates tutorial as they are an all year theme. Skull and cross bones canes with a little Santa hats, skull and cross bone leprechaun canes, skull and cross bones with little easter bunny ears…the possibilities are endless.
    We seemed to have missed Fall here in Iowa. We had great summer weather even through the beginning of October until we got the snow, rain, mud and ick for the past 2 weeks. So I was not really thinking about fall either.
    On Thursday I taught the first of four polymer clay community education classes. This new adventure is exciting for me. One of the woman asked what spray on finishes we can use with PC and I really can’t remember which are are compatible and those that are not compatible with cured PC. I always use Future and we will being using that in class. I know Cindy recently found a scrap bookers spray but it is not available in the US. Any other suggestions out there. Thanks.
