Handmade Polymer Clay Gifts – Ideas for Guys & Gals of All Ages
“I’ve been making home made gifts since my son was 9 months old. He is 39 now!” ~MaryEllen-S

With the Holidays coming up, you will soon need a few more gift giving ideas. Here is another polymer clay jewelry idea for inspiration. This braided leather choker with faux stones would look awesome with the faux pebble bracelet I showed you awhile back.
Like the bracelet, this necklace was made using beads from the Faux Pebble Beads Tutorial and leather lacing I cut myself from an old leather jacket. Only this time I used three strips of leather and braided them on each side after adding the beads to the center strip.
What I like about this kind of leather and faux stone jewelry, is the fact that it is Unisex. So it is perfect for the Earthy guy or gal. Perhaps the choker design isn’t the most suitable for guys, but you get what I mean.
Some super quick and inexpensive gifts to make with your cool polymer clay beads include earrings, bracelets, necklaces, chokers (like the one pictured above), bookmarks and key rings.
So do you have plans for making handmade gifts this year? I’d love to hear about them in the comments section below. Here’s what MaryEllen wrote last year in a previous holiday post.

Sure, why not Joyce! Denim would be a great idea!
I love the idea of cutting up an old leather jacket to use in jewelry! Now I’m wondering if denim might have a similar effect…..
I’ll work on some more masculine design ideas. It shouldn’t be too hard… I’ve always been a bit of a Tom Boy!
Thanks everyone for the great comments and feedback. It sure helps me in the planning process for this blog and the videos!
I would love to have some more ideas for making jewlery and small gift items for men. That’s a great idea – my son wears bracelets so I could make him something with leather too.
I’d love more jewellery ideas for men, too. My son is an artist and I think he’d enjoy wearing something I’d made for him. My DSIL, a sailor, wears earrings, so I guess jewellery for men is finally acceptable. I’d like to come up with a necklace or bracelet design that was attractive, easy to wear, and a little bit unusual. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.
Cindy, I’m really enjoying my video subscription. Just wish I had more time to play with the clay!

I have the same problem…. my husband always wants me to make him a necklace or something…. and it always seems to feminine…. might have something to do with my adoration of the fabulous and different flower canes out there though. He he he…..
That’s what I would like to get more of, ideas for male or unisex jewelry. I can come up with many ideas for jewelry for women but really really hit a block when it comes to designs for men. I don’t understand why I would have such a hard time designing for myself.
