Over the years I’ve received a ton of support from other bloggers who have helped to get the word out about the community here. And one of the ways I can show some appreciation is by linking back to these sites so you guys can check them out too.

Today I would like to give a big shout out to Lisa Clarke from Polka Dot Cottage. Here is an excerpt from the 2010-09-20 article she wrote not too long ago…

Polymer Clay Tutor – Cindy has been dropping in here and leaving friendly comments for a few years now. Her own website is bursting with tips and tricks for polymer clay beadmaking, and she runs a successful business, selling video tutorials on the subject. Recently when I was needing a refresher about an aspect of transferring photos onto polymer, a Google search brought me straight to Cindy, who had a very clear description of the process. It answered my question (and I few I hadn’t thought to ask).

Be sure to spend some time reading through her other articles as well. She has A LOT to offer! And please do tell her I sentcha… which some of you have already done… big TY :-)

Cindy – Your tutorials are super and I have learned so much from them. Thanks for your help. I look forward to Friday morning every week except for the regrettable 5th Friday that comes around every once in a while. But at the same time I think you more than deserve some time off. Cheers, Katherine Davis

I have recently started back using polymer clay again and I have read many articles on your website about using Future for a glaze for polymer clay and also Studio. I am looking for a thick, high glass glaze. I have used Triple Thick Brilliant Brush-On Gloss Glaze by DecoArt and I really like the finish but it is hard to get flawless finish. Do you know about using this or do you know of any other finish that will produce the same effect?
    Thank you

    • @Beth Helwig: My favorite product for getting a high gloss glaze is UV Epoxy Resin. If you would like to learn about the process of adding UV resin to polymer clay I do have a tutorial for that. You can watch a little preview video if you wish, by clicking the link by my name.

For flat surfaces, I prefer the resin over finishes such a Future or Triple Thick Glaze because it is much more durable, can be set quickly with a UV Lamp and you can get a gorgeous flawless finish with it.

  • Cindy,

I’d like to take this opportunity to let you know that I have only just recently become a member and I am so impressed with the videos. I especially liked the alcohol ink on foil technique. Your instruction is just wonderful and I have already learnt so many terrific things. Your excellent videos really are the way to learn. They’re fab! I’m so pleased I found your website.

    With kind wishes,
    I’m in Australia :-)

Oh my Goodness! She’s home! I’ve been wondering about our dear friend, hoping to get some (good) news soon. Now that she can get online herself–since she’s more computer savvy–the cheering-up can commence! What should we do — continue adding encouragement to the page we started for her, or maybe a new “Welcome Home” post? Either way, I’m so happy she’s home. She’s got a long journey ahead of her, though; we need help keep her spirits up. It’s important that she doesn’t get discouraged… She says she’ll never be “as before” but it seems she’s already a little better off than the original ‘assessment’. With lots of positive energy, thoughts, prayers, etc. flowing her way, she can continue to get better! Anyway, sorry for the off topic…I’ll take my words to Ritzs’ post.

  • UPDATE ON RITZS…

Great interview and interesting site. OT has anyone heard more about Ritzs and how she and John are doing?

  • Did you know that you can transfer your drawings directly on the clay. Prismacolor crayons if you press had enough will give you nice transfers. Parole de pâte in the children section has a demo on the process. paroledepate.canalblog.com/archives/le_coin_des_enfants/p20-0.html the date is :september 17, 2008
