Member Project Photos – Polymer Clay Faux Agate Technique

This blog is a community meeting spot for many polymer clay artists, ranging from beginner level all the way to advanced. It is a place for learning and applying new techniques that have been taught over at the PcT Store.

To date, there are over 300 jewelry and bead photos that have been uploaded, by the Artists and Members that hang out here. Way to go, guys! As your Tutor, it makes me feel very proud to see how much everyone is accomplishing.

If you missed it, the last mini showcase of member projects focused on the Butterfly Wing Cane technique (Vol-026-1).

And today, the theme is… Faux Agate Beads (Vol-025-3). See compilation of Facebook photos posted further down on this page.

Faux agates…. Another cracker Cindy, and it uses old canes too! I just love the magic moments when sanding and buffing this type of bead. It goes silky and then all the colours suddenly appear. Very satisfying.

Just a quick reminder to all who use this site to remember to periodically check the member project photos Cindy and Doug post on the Polymer Clay Tutor Facebook site. I haven’t been there in awhile, so I was stunned by all the new work and talent.

    Enjoy!

  • Koolbraider says:

My jaw dropped when I saw my Faux Agate beads on top!!! I have to say they are in great company! And I’ve decided it’s time to come up with an avatar, just can’t decide what yet. Off to check the link by Cindy’s name.

    • That’s some outstanding talent showcased above! I love the Faux Agate beads. Can’t wait til I can add the tut to my library!

@Koolbraider: Isn’t it awesome?!! It catches you so off guard you’re stunned! But you deserve it.. Your beads are beautiful, as are the others! Congrats to you and everyone else who’s pics are showcased above! Question.. What’s a “kumihimo”? (Guess that means you have to post a pic? LOL!)

      • Phaedrakat says:

@Tanya L: Hiya Girl! Susan makes beautiful Kumihimo (Japanese braiding technique.) A while back, she provided an explanation of Kumihimo, and talked about her love of fibers. She also mentioned a URL so we can see some of her pieces!

  • I love the look of these! I wish I could feel them, too! I will try this once I feel better.

  • Jeanne C. says:

Beautiful work everyone! I’m going to have to put this on my to do list.

  • Lupe Meter says:

These were fun make. I would like to try some others in a different color. Great work everyone!

  • Phaedrakat says:

Ooooh, pretty! This is such a cool technique — very simple, with intricate-looking results! Some nice jewelry here, too. Congrat’s everyone; thanks for sharing your work! And thanks to you, Cindy — for your incredible tutorials and techniques…

  • FYI: If you see your work included in one these Member Project, photo postings, please know that you are welcome to speak up here in the comments with a shout out for yourself…. like Tanya-L did in yesterday’s Butterfly Wing Cane showcase.

  • Lisa Whitham says:

Lovely work people… Some really pretty colors!

    ~Lisa :)

    • @Lisa Whitham: I see you have a new Gravatar Pic. Very Lovely! These little pictures sure help to personalize things around here :-)

To anyone who still has that blue sideways “G” showing by your name… it is easy to change that to something unique. The link by my name will take you to the Gravatar site which allows you to do this.
