  • Cindy – You have great niche as a teacher (plus you are just adorable in the videos). Adding the travel in the summer is great to spread the word. The magazine companies are always looking for articles so you may think about writing from time to time. Iris Wiess from Polyform also mentioned that they will pay for promoting the items they have (you may know about the new tools coming out) and you have a great following. I sort of think of you and Cynthia (PCD) as the Oprah’s of polymer clay. You mention it and we buy it!

  • I would love it if you came to the Iowa City, IA area in 2013! We are lucky to have both a Michaels here and a Hobby Lobby. Lol, I think I personally keep both of these places up and running! I purchase beads and tools alot because I make jewelry, but also have purchased a lot from them because clay is my new medium. They have helped me get up and running. You name it, I’ve purchased it! Stamps for textures, all the clay tools (pasta machines, slicers, clays, cutters, molds, etc), beads, barrette blanks, resin, bezels, string, wire, cord, display props, bead containers and storage, glues, glitters, resin dyes, books…. Wowza, I buy a LOT!

Would love it if you came! My fiance and I are getting married on June 15, though, so if you come around this area try to make it before that or a few weeks after. Would hate to miss you!!

  • Cindy – If you ever make it to the Memphis area, let me know I would love to meet you and your family in person!!

  • Dixie Ann says:

Congratulations Sherry on 29 yrs. Hope you all have another happy 29, now go out and do something nice for yourselves. You deserve it!

BTW I messed up in reguard to pinning my location on your map…. It should be Arden NC not Asheville NC—- they are pretty close to each other BUT every time I go to Asheville by myself I get Lost or turned around…. The Michaels in Arden is SO VERY EZ TO FIND

    • Dixie Ann says:

That dear girl is quite a list. You sure have mine beat all to heck. Don’t you just love the dream machine. Lucky you, you have a motor to go with. I see you have both the Makins Extruder and the Walnut Hollow. Is there a difference between the two? Which one do you like the best? I almost bought the Walnut Hollow but already had the Makins.

      • Tantesherry says:

        hi Dixie
Way back when the DREAM Machine and motor were still in the proto type stage Wilma and her husband Rob at ARTWAY had a very good special deal if you bought both at the same time – can’t remember all the details…

But I do remember saving every cent I made at our local art & farmers market
That was alot of 75 cent beads ;)
Back then I was building K-canes and covering things like eggs, tins, letter openers, lighter covers ect … So I was left with quite a bit of colorful scraps that I turned into mirrow beads
The part of this story that I like best is how it kind of paid for its self

as far as the extruders go — I had just broken my 1st Makins and while at Michaels one day I noticed the new WH type & still being miffed at Makins I went w/ the WH….they are pretty much the same except the Makins type give a longer ‘rope’ of clay…..so I’d say I like the makins best

It sure would be a huge blessing if all of our list helped Cindy & Doug
        get some sponsers

        • Dixie Ann says:

Sherry thanks for all the great info. Rob and Wilma are sure nice folks and make a great product. Now I know why I hesitated and did not buy the WH Extruder. ;)

          • Tantesherry says:

            totally nice
I would LUV to visit their store … for DAYS ;)

        • Elaine Faulks says:

          Hi Sherry,

My Makins got cross threaded so I got a W/H extruder. My DH managed to get it working again but my little dog goes crazy when I use it because it squeeks.

The rubber sleeve came off the W/H and got thrown away by mistake!! So now I am looking for something to cushion the handle with.

Will probably wind string around it unless you have any ideas??? A dream machine plus motor is on my wish list but will have to sell a heap more before I can get them……cheers xx…

          • Tantesherry says:

            that’s funny :) I’d forgotten the squeaking

my WH sleeve came off too – so I tossed it

like your string idea – maybe you could get some of that brush on liquid latex to make it more comfy

for either extruder I have a small vise (2 to 3 pounds) that DH bolted to a piece of scrap wood
            works like a charm too

It also holds my dremel since he gave me a flex shaft for Christmas one year

btw tomorrow is our 29th anniversary :)

          • Natalie Herbin says:

            Hi Elaine
I also use the WH extruder bad I love it
…..my rubber on the barrel is getting twisted….. I thinking of adding a piece of fo rubber pipe insulation —My hubby said it would probably need a 1/2 diameter piece …. It’s what you wrap your pipes with to prevent lose of l
Heat….it should work for you …. Al around an see of any of our fiends have about a 4 -5 inch piece ( you canes sure the barrow to get the right size….let me know how it works out
Natalie Herbin aka Safti’s from saftis creations

          • Congrats Tanetesherry on your 29th Anniversary! Like you already know our 25th was just a few days ago. There is something so sweet and comforting about being with someone you love for so long. Here’s to many more happy years!

    • AWESOME JOB Sherry! Thank you so much for going to the effort of posting this in credibly detailed inventory. It is very insightful and helps an enormous amount when we have real product info like this we can share with potential sponsors.

TO EVERYONE: This is an ongoing open thread where you can continue to add your lists and locations. Don’t be afraid to add your voice, even though this is an older thread. That goes for any of the posts. New information added to old posts makes the post more relevant and will show up better on searches. SO please feel free to add to any post at any time!

I live in the southeastern part of Minnesota, about an hour south of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. I live north of Rochester about 45 minutes.
The Twin Cities have Michaels stores and Rochester has Michaels and Hobby Lobby.
I would just love to see you first hand!!

    Dorothy

    • @Dorothy – you live sort of in my old neck-of-the-woods! I grew up in north central Iowa, but Austin, MN was a half hour north of us and where my grandparents lived so we all spent a lot of time there. I fondly remember lots of shopping trips to Rochester. :-) My mom still shops there all the time. Lovely area.

  • Gail Mulder says:

I’m sorry for the delayed action – I’ve been away.

Don’t know if I’ve ever put in writing how much I appreciate your amazing tutorials, talent, and forever sharing of your gifts. I look forward to Friday’s just to see what beautiful trinkets of creations you have in store to share with us. I usually wake up early, once a week– anxious to watch your tutorials. Working with jewelry, especially polymer, is my saving grace, my therapy…and my passion. I wear what I make daily, and always, always, ALWAYS get compliments. So I thank you, from the bottom of this lil’ ol’ heart, for your hard work, devotion, and endless gifts…and for sharing, quite inexpensively I might add, from the heart.

  • Hi Cindy and Doug!
I hope you can make your way to the San Francisco Bay Area. I really look forward to meeting you and your family. I believe I’ve been one of your fans since you started the Polymer Clay tutor.

I shop at various places including Michaels and Joannes. But I also have some other area I wish to tell everyone about:

OttoFrei in San Francisco for fine silver wire and tools

The Hobby Co in San Francisco – a wonderful independent kid’s, crafter’s and hobbyist’s paradise where I’ve been purchasing some of my Premo and all of my Sculpey clays. additionally their bead room has findings not available at Michaels or Joannes, plus wonderful chain and cord.

Kragen Auto Parts for sandpaper and sponges to use for sanding

  • Hi Cindy and Doug and family! We are from Chalfont, PA (north of Philadelphia). We live in Bucks County PA. The area is truly full of history and would be so educational for your kids to see! Covered bridges, Valley Forge, Liberty Bell, Washington’s Crossing, Peddler’s Village, LaHaska… just to name a few. I love polymer clay as it is a great medium for stress. I would love to join a Polymer Clay Guild, but haven’t. If you do come to our area, I can promise you a driveway and electrical hookup, a peaceful neighborhood for relaxation, and a swimming pool for your entire family to enjoy.

I can also promise an assembly for your kids that I used to give to schools: Everyone is just a person. It basically shows that people are alike – even if they have a disability. It would help your kids to learn about autism – the disability that was 1 in 10,000 (15 years ago) and now 1 in 100. My son, who is autistic, is my best teacher. I live, eat breathe to understand him and how he thinks. I work 24/7 as his caretaker and am thankful for your video’s every Friday. Months may go by and I might not be able to watch or even think for more than 2 seconds, but, when my hands (and that of my son) start touching the clay, we can’t stop – it is so addictively relaxing.

My table is full of clay: table to the right: pieces that need clear coated, table to the left: pieces that need to be baked, big coffee table in front: pieces that are baked and being worked on for coating: inked, covered pearl ex, painted, wired, pendants/earrings – we simply can’t stop…. One of our suppliers that I use is on ebay and the sellers name is superiorgems This is where I buy our big stones from and make our “dragon creatures” that are carrying their treasure.

Cindy I wish you so much fun with your family. Being a caretaker is demanding, I can think of nothing else, but I try to enjoy bits and pieces when I can. I hope you choose somewhere near Philadelphia, or in New Jersey, If anything, I would love to just drive anywhere to give you a big huge hug! You have pretty much saved my dignity on some days where I thought I couldn’t do anymore…. Thank you.

    Sue and Danny xox

    • Oh my gosh Sue, you are so sweet! I would love to introduce you and Danny to my family and give you a great big hug. Thank you so much for your kind words and your offer to park in your driveway. Hopefully one day soon, we will be able to take you up on that!

I was a little intimidated by what all I had accumulated so lets just say I have everything the others have except the die cutters and the propane tank. Hope that helps.

    • pollyanna says:

And I shop at Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics, Amazon, PolymerClay Express, and eebeads.com. And I got that nice resin from Terry.

Cindy, just wanted you to know that thanks to everyone sending in their lists, the spreadsheet sponsor information has almost doubled in size and I am hoping to add about 30 more sponsor names to the list. Thanks to Doug the Hoovers site is a big help in locating a lot of basic information. I will try and spend time on this everyday until completed.

  • Anna Sabina says:

When will Cindy and Doug be going on CRAFT WARS. I know you two can win. make that part of your road trip.

    • I would love to be a contestant on Craft Wars! It would be so fun and probably pretty scary since you never know what they will throw at you. With Doug’s woodworking/building skills and my mixed media craft skills, I think we could be pretty good contenders. Would make a great tie in to the PcT Roadtrip too. Thanks for your supportive comment Anna!

  • Cindy Zalme says:

Sounds like a great, fun, beneficial idea. Now — with the ages of your children — is the time to do this.

I don’t yet buy a lot but always catch your e-mails. My limitation is the hours I have to put into work. However, I am an avid Michael’s customers buying jewelry supplies, polymer clay, mixed media and paper crafting supplies.

I would be so exciting and a great promotion to have you visit Asheville, NC — in fact, be sure not to miss, Asheville — great city!

Sorry not to be so detailed but I’m a long time customer and if I had time to list my purchases, I’d be more than all day — so don’t have that much time.

  • Hi, Cindy,
I think your road trip idea is great! Unfortunately for me, I live in Argentina, which is WAY out of your way… Still, it will be exciting to read about your progress, and the people you meet.
Here in Argentina there are not many people who work with polymer clay, and there are very few tools available in shop. They are also so overpriced, that it is far cheaper to buy on the Internet from sellers in the US. Since I have started following your videos, I have bought (either online or through friends who travelled to the US):
Lots and lots of Premo! polymer clay
    Pearl Ex powders
    FIMO liquid
    Acrilic roller (by FIMO)
Rigid, flexible and wavy blades by Sculpey
    AMACO baking bead rack
    AMACO bead rollers
    Texture sheets (several different brands)
    Stamps
    Alcohol inks, by Ranger Industries
    Alcohol inks Blending solution
Alcohol inks blending tool (with extra pads)
    Ranger Ind. Distress ink Pad
    Cardstock Paper pack
    Cookie molds
    Makins Ultimate Extruder
Style and detail Tools by Sculpey
    Sculpey Mini molds
    Gold and silver leaf
Many different types of findings (including grommets, barrettes, bezel settings, ear wires, cufflink blanks)
    Several types of wire

I have also bought several supplies locally, such as FIMO soft clay, pasta machine, convection oven, more molds, findings, crystals and stones.

Have a great time and a safe trip!

  • It’s great to find a community where I fit! There is definitely a sense of family here and I feel welcome. I’m fairly new to polymer clay and the whole jewelry thing as far as that goes— only a little over year in jewelry making and about 5 months with polymer clay.

As the case with everyone here, I’m totally and utterly hooked! I believe I’ve spent more money these past five months than I have the whole time since starting this new venture. I’ve got so much potential inventory (if you know what I mean) that needs to make its way to the hearts and hands of others, so I look forward to diving into the business end also.

Thanks Cindy and Doug for not only sharing your products but sharing your lives. I appreciate the inspiration that you bring to us. Have a safe and blessed tour.

Okay enough of the mushy stuff, back to business.

Here the list of items I purchase on a regular:
Michael’s – Fimo clay, Premo Sculpey clay, blades, sculpting tools, beads, findings
    AC Moore – ditto
HobbyLobby – Kato Polyclay, Jacquard PearlEx pigments, beads, findings

  • WOW! The listing from everyone is AMAZING. I don’t feel so bad. I am a Polymer Clay Junkie for sure. I live just outside of Tucson Arizona.( about 125 miles south of Phoenix).. I have been doing PC for about 6 years. Premo is my favorite clay, although I do sneak in others ! I have a small 8×10 studio – Cramed packed with everything the the above folks have mentioned. Michael’s is my drug of choice LOL. I shop with coupons in hand, as often as I have money. The things I can’t get at Michaels, I buy on line. Amazon.com, e-bay,Terry Morris, Polymer Clay Express, Jones-Tones, Fusion and Art Beads, Fire Mountain Gems, and quite a few others. I deeply appreciated all that Cindy Lietz has done. Polymer Clay Tutor has been such fun and I have learned soooooo much.

All of Cindy’s group are wonderful folks, So giving and loving. So compassionate ……… Joining PCT was one of the best things ever. I am here to stay.

Here’s hoping your Road Trip is a huge success. Cindy, Doug and family have worked so hard to create a life to be proud of. Rving is such fun. We did it , after my DH retired, for about 6 years. Wonderful people we met and such interesting places we went. Hope your memories will be fun-filled and long…………

Any sponsor would be crazy to NOT back you. Hoping someone sees this and comes forward !

    Hi Cindy,

I live in Bradenton, FL and have been working with polymer clay for about a year. Your tutorials are the best out there and because of you I have turned my son’s room in to my craft room. Hopefully he won’t be coming home for a visit soon as his bed and bureau, floor etc is covered in beads and polymer clay supplies. I shop every week at Michaels, JoAnns Fabrics & Crafts and Walmart for supplies including clay, stamps, accent beads, glaze, pearl ex, alcohol inks, findings, wire, Big Kick, cutting tools and more. Don’t know if you will make it this far south, but would love it if you did. I’ve even written a story called The Lost Medallions of Ana Maria Cay which originally was a marketing idea for my polymer clay jewelry but became a desire to learn more about the history of the area here called Anna Maria Island. It is the story of Polymra, a Timucuan Indian girl who makes beautiful clay medallions and her adventures in meeting Ponce de Leon and Hernando Desoto! It’s a beautiful place to visit! Good Luck with putting the trip together.

    TheCrazyBeadChick

    • Susan your story “The Lost Medallions of Ana Maria Cay” sounds really intriguing. Where can we find out more about it?

      • Susan Coulis says:

        Cindy,

I am waiting for a certificate from the US Copyright office and will then hopefully have the story printed. As soon as I recieve notice of copyright I will email you a copy. Glad you are getting such a great response for your road trip!

  • Cindy, Doug, Willow and Fisher,

  • Heidi WYRICK says:

I have not commented for a long while (sad to say). First off, this site has been my number one go to site for three years now!!!!! I have learned more from Cindy then all of the books(about 50) and other tuts I’ve purchased combined and for that I will forever be grateful!!!!! When I first started she had mentioned to save the beginning beads and I fought the urge for three days of throwing them across our driveway, running them over with my car then throwing it in reverse only to smash them again!!!!! Last week I was cleaning out my studio and came across a canning jar with beads inside. I blew off the dust and opened the jar (from 3 years ago) and I was stunned at how far I’ve come from the odd shaped, muddy colored starter beads!!!! I showed my hubby planning then to throw them out and he said “why on earth would you throw them out? You should treasure them because without those beads you would not be a polymer clay artist today!!!”. Wow, I never really thought of it that way!! As for my list of supplies, I started with a hand cracked pasta machine, three blocks of kato clay and one blade. Now I have three hand crank and one electric pasta machine, three big cupboards of Premo clay, liquid clay, every Sculpey tool made, every shape cutter Cindy told us about, drawers of stamps and texture plates, the Wilton’s tools and cutters, almost every pad of paper from the recent tags tut plus the ribbon, boxes to store them and embellishments, paints, inks, metal leaf sheets, stamping pads, dedicated oven with thermometer, resins, curing oven, glazes, glitters, inclusions, dremel, electric sander/buffer, heat gun, all of the specialty sanding squares, Jewelry findings, beads, lots of wire, well I guess you name it I’ve got it!!!! Lol. I went from the end of our dinning room table to a studio in our basement and I have loved and been tortured with each step of my growth. I now love and appreciate challenging myself, stepping out of my comfort zone has been difficult but the vast spectrum of Cindy’s tutorials makes that a lot easier!!!! I always feel like I have an encouraging cheerleader with me every step of the way!!!!!!! From the bottom of my heart…….Thank you so very much!!!!!!!!

    • Oh Heidi I LOVE your story! It is so cool that you have grown so much during your polymer clay journey so far. Just imagine where you will go from here! I agree with your husband, don’t you dare throw out those beginner beads… How else are you going to know how truly far you have come?

BTW, you forgot to tell us where you want us to visit… I would love to meet you in person!

  • Road trip is a great idea. We did a lot of that when the kids were little, first in a pop-up camper then a truck camper, then a very small motor home and when the grandkids came along they went with us in the 32′ motor home.
I’m not going to list all my supplies because if you’ve used it in a tutorial I have it except a big-kick which my daughter has. I have a lot more than you’ve used in tutorials also. I shop at JoAnn’s, Michael’s, Hobby Lobby and Pat Catan’s, whose stores are in Ohio, Pennsylvania and one in Michigan.
We live in Wadsworth Ohio near Akron, Cleveland and Marie Schwab’s Canton.

  • Your road trip is a GREAT IDEA and you have a lot of great tips.

I saw that you wanted sponsors and mentioned Michaels to come and teach. Michaels has certified bead instructors that teach in the stores. Personally, I love your instructions, but teaching clay at the store would cut in to our instructor efforts to teach clay classes. Like you, we make our living teaching beading classes and we are looking forward to teaching clay at the stores in the near future. If you taught at the store that would ruin it for us to teach it.

    • Mary I wouldn’t worry about me ruining your teaching opportunities at Michaels. If we did partner up with them in some way, my demos and tours around some of the stores would only bring a positive awareness to polymer clay, not take away your ability to teach classes there. The more people that can share their love of polymer clay to others, the better for everyone!

    • Mary H – A guest artist can attract a lot of people to your store. Many of those people may not even have known about the classes your instructors are teaching. They may become very interested in signing up for those classes once Cindy has left. Many times, once you see someone doing an actual demonstration of their craft, it will spark an interest in learning more about it.

    • Mary,

Cindy’s visit to a store would probably be a one time thing so it really can’t cut other instructors out. I agree that it can only serve as excellent pr for any store that hosts PCT and excellent pr translates to dollars earned. Sounds like an opportunity to me :)

      Angela M.

    • Anna Sabina says:

Mary, Not all Michaels have bead instructors, I have never been to a Michael’s that has a bead instructor. Most classes at the Michael’s in my area have been Wilton Cake decorating classes. I have NEVER been to one that has an instructor for Polymer Clay. I approached Michael’s about a a Polymer Clay class and they declined. Having Cindy come to Michael’s would be great opportunity!!

      • Rebecca Chisenhall says:

I don’t think the MIchaels in my area teach any polymer clay, either. A visit by Cindy could get more interest up!

  • I copied this list from Rebecca Chisenhall because I just bought the bigkick (for my birthday) and her list looks like everything I have. I didn’t realize I had so much stuff until I was reading the lists and thought oh I have all that too. My location is Lindon Utah. So if you want to go to Zions National Park or Grand Canyons we could meet along the way :)

      Wow Kerri C,
Just looked at your list and realized I have most of what you have purchased except for a pair of nylon coated pliers (I use electical tape to cover an old pair) but it is on my wish-list. The other item I want is some aluminum sheeting. (Just ordered some copper sheeting) Well my new Cuttlebug is hungry Third and last is PYMII but it’s on order……surface mail so could take some time……………………

love making them. You are so right CINDY it is addictive.

Now on .order, a wooden draw-plate. Hoping CINDY will have the time to do a Viking knit tute some time before she hits the road…………What is it with this CINDY GAL? You think, nah, I’m not going to do that (when you see her latest TUTe) then hey presto, you are ordering all the stuff.
Now off to stock the freezer after having a “clear your freezer week” ……….cheers xx………

  • Dorothy H says:

WOW Go Cindy… I just found this in my email and am blown away… I definitely buy products because of your show and thought I had everything I could ever use for clay… but now because all of these lists… I see I will have to keep shopping… I will get my list together and figure out how to send it as well as gather a few bucks to send you as a donation too… what fun… love your enthusiasm.

  • Danette J says:

Wow, what an amazing idea! I’m all the way in Richmond, BC – a whole stone’s throw away! = ) Here are some of the things I’ve purchased during the time I’ve been receiving your lessons:

Premo clay, some Sculpey and Fimo, Bake and Bond, Liquid Sculpey, liquid Kato, Sculpey detailing tools, Sculpey Mold Maker, slicing tools, plexiglass rollers, silicone mold compound (Michael’s and EpoxyJewelry.com), resin 2 part and UV resin, assorted foils, metallic leaf, texture sheets, rubber stamps, ink pads, bead trays for baking/pins, Amaco bead rollers, pasta machine, Makins clay extruder, Makins metal shape cutters, Cookie cutters, wet dry auto sanding paper, Micro Mesh sanding pads, paint brushes, Pearl Ex powders, Perfect Pearls powders, Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks, jewelry tool sets, assortment of wire different gauges and metals, Beadalon metallic thread, silk cord, satin cord, ribbon, buna cord, jewelry wire, leather cord, seed beads, metallic sand, glitter, embossing powders, steampunk elements, watch parts, decorative papers, plastic molds, jewelry findings, BEADS! – metal, wood, glass, vintage; filagrees and metal stampings, chains, bezels, ring blanks, storage units and shelving, organizers (plastic compartment types), convection oven, Gilder’s paste, Byzantia jewel paints, Future Acrylic Clear Coat, Preserve Your Memories II Spray, butane torch, Wellbond, E6000, Gorilla Glue, acrylic and oil paints, parchment paper, UV light box,
*additional products bought when spending time shopping in Michaels, searching for jewelry supplies. Cindy, you should get a commission for the amount of advertising Michael’s receives while mentioned at the blog and how much time and $$ we spend there! Also local art supply stores; thrift shops; dollar stores; hardware stores; yard sales
*hours of shopping/browsing online for items and browsing these sites: Artbeads; Ring&Things; FireMountain Gems; Shades of Clay; E Bay; Amazon; The Clay Alley; EpoxyJewelry.com; Polymer Clay Superstore; The Perfect Bead; Etsy; Facebook

I’ll bet for every comment/supply listed here, there are MANY more dedicated “quiet” followers who also utilize the same supplies, stores, web sites. Cindy, your warmth and enthusiasm; ability to set newcomers at ease; commitment to quality; and absolute dedication to your followers and craft are some of the reasons your tutorials are popular. If I were trying to increase a product’s exposure and improve sales, drawing on these qualities would be an obvious solution. The touring is a nice balance of online technology (convenience) and unique customer care (gathering)…encouraging connections.
Hopefully sponsors will be engaging in a little friendly competition to take on this unique, community building project! Many people I know are really intrigued, but know very little about polymer when I show them my pieces. Seems like a market just waiting to be tapped. From the exposure of your online tutorials alone, I learned so much about the products above. Three years ago I wouldn’t have known how to use about 90% of the supplies listed (or even what they were) . People are naturally drawn to your relaxed, sincere teaching style Cindy – with that we become inspired with the info we receive and want also to create our own projects. Especially in these difficult times, it’s hard to justify buying ongoing supplies without a clear understanding of how to use them in many different ways.

Who knows maybe “down the road” a fleet of Lietz trailers, connecting and introducing folks from all over to clay? I could definitely see you with your own segment somewhere on tv too. Right now, only a few days after your petition you have 90 + positive comments – that says a lot about your determination and focus. Good luck to the whole Lietz family in your adventure, and most importantly travel safely!! Danette

    • Yeah it’s great to see someone from BC finally putting up their hand! Thank you for your beautiful and detailed comment DJ!

  • What a great idea!

I live in DeLand, Florida–between Orlando and Daytona Beach. This is just a quick reply so that you can geographically pin me. I may get back to you later with my many, many product purchases inspired by your project videos!

  • Well I promise to do another post later about my Cindy-prompted craft purchases (this might take a while!) but right now I want to say WOO!! I GOT A MENTION IN A VIDEO! Does this make me famous? I love how you say my name Cindy, too cute. :)

So I’m just about to start creating the pinned map. I’m planning to add the person’s username as the pin title, with the name of the city and a quote from their comment in the pin description. Once I’ve added a few pins I’ll post the link here so you can all see how it’ll work – it might take a while to add everyone to the map though! I’m looking forward to seeing where everyone is from and it’ll help me to learn more geography at the same time. ;)

Hope this is okay Cindy and Doug, let me know if you want me to to change anything.

    • Yes.. of course that makes you famous Silverleaf! :) We have already started a map that you can use and some ideas on how/what should be pinned. I will email you directly so we can ‘chat’. It could take me a bit though… Fisher had his birthday party last night, so his cousins are here for a sleepover and it is Canada Day here as well, so things are a little busy. Thanks so much for the help on this one! It is going to be fun to see the pins adding up!

(BTW what accent are you talking about? I don’t have an accent. LOL)

      • Well, it seems my enthusiasm for pinning has caused problems! Oops! Maybe there’s a way to combine our maps…

Well happy birthday to Fisher anyway, hope you all had a great day. :)

Let’s put it this way, you say “Anna” differently to how I say it. Maybe it’s me who has the accent… ;)

Cindy, your personality is great for hosting and watching, and I sure hope folks have enough sense to see Carol DuVall when they see you. Future, sure hope to see you with your own cable programing.

    The entire family….

  • Kathy Bloom says:

I have not been a part of PcT for very long and don’t interact much but I love working with polymer clay.

I have switched from Kato Clay to Premo and have almost all of the colors available. I have arthitis and it is much easier to condition. Among my tools, I have two acrylic rollers, the one with the handle is my favorite; three knives; three or four sets of cutters; a pasta machine with a motor; Alcohol inks; Pearl X Powders; glitter large and small; two extruders one of which I have adapted to use with an electric drill so it’s easier on my hands; liquid clay; Bake N Bond; Jewelry wire copper, bronze, silver and gold filled; findings; beads;and stringing materials of all sorts. Every jewelry making tool that comes out including my latest The Knotty Do-It-All for making jewelry with beads and cords. I recently purcased the JoolTool which makes sanding and polishing an absolute breeze.

I live outside of Chicago and I too would be wonderfully happy to have you stay in our driveway. We have a Joann Store, Hobby Lobby as well as Michaels where your visit could be advertised. There is also a Polymer Clay Guild in Chicago that would probably produce a few interested clayers.

If you could provide a letter of introduction with the details of your visit, I would be happy to send it out to the various shops and guilds in the area and see how much interest there might be in your visit. I live right across the street from a middle school and am famiiar with some of the staff. We could possibly do a gathering there. I think it would be great for the kids to get involved in claying as well.

I also don’t think that anyone would have a problem spending a fee, even $20.00 and the cost of supplies, to have you provide instruction. There is really nothing in this immediate area and I know there are lots of people who would like to learn how to work with polymer clay.

  • I have a travel trailer too, pitty I am so far in Europe Serbia. I was doing my workshops in camp site too. See the pic. So, I think this is a great idea.

Lol, I was just looking at all the lists! We must have collectively spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on claying supples, jewelry supplies, and tools! Think we might singlehandedly be supporting craft store businesses? I personally think they all “owe” you, lol, for encouraging such vast amounts of business, especially in this economy!

    • Your son-in-law is appreciated by me more than I will ever be able to express in words and his sacrifice has touched me deeply. As a service man he is a hero in my eyes. All service people are my heroes and to have willingly gone to a place where such a loss could happen is beyond words heroic. Thank him with all my heart, please.

  • So great to get to know all of you here! Anyone else in Ontario? I live in Mississauga and I buy tons of stuff from Michaels. I will be back and make a list of supplies as well as the donation. At the moment our eldest daughter has been unwell for the last two week spent hrs in the emerg; all kinds of tests – haven’t yet found out what it is . She’s on medication and home; three weeks ago it was my mom in India seriously ill. Haven’t been thinking too well though I did do some claying – really therapeutic! Kelli, praying for your husband’s recovery.

Happy to donate-just because i appreciate your tuition so much. I’m in Sydney, Australia and buy most of my items from O/S
Just about to order my kumihimo discs– which like most of the items that I’ve bought-I wouldn’t have bought them until I watched your amazing tutorials.
Consequently in the years that I’ve been watching you I have bought so much- the double garage no longer houses our cars- but is my studio supply station and soldering/baking station.
The spare bedroom is soon to be my studio and I’m still not sure that I’ll fit in there.
Whoever said polymer clay was one dimensional. You can take it wherever and you’ll need to be able to purchase tools etc to keep up.
    It becomes all consuming!
    Clay
    findings
    tools
    resin
    inks
    dyes
    inclusions
    paints
    pencils
    beads crystals etc)
    varnishes
    cake molds- wilton accessories
    books
too many to list- hence the garage!!!!!!!!!
Needless to say I look forward to every post- hate 5th Friday though- withdrawal until next week
    happy traveling
    cara

  • I’m in Oklahoma City, and look forward to your tutorials every week! I’ve learned so much from them, and the quality of your videos is always superb!

I’ve made so many trips to Michael’s in the past year and a half that I’ve been involved with polymer clay that I’ve lost count. The cashiers know me by face, if not by name!

I’ve bought tons of Premo clay (well not TONS, but a lot, thanks to Michael’s “Buy the Bunch” bulk purchase program), tools, powders, glitters, glues, metal leaf, most everything they sell in the clay aisle.

And then there’s all the jewelry-making things — beads, clasps, all sorts of findings. I’m definitely a Michael’s girl!

And if you come to OKC, we’d love to have you visit with our Central Oklahoma Polymer Clay Guild! We’re growing, and just moved our meetings to the City Arts Center on the OKC fairgrounds.

Best of luck in your travels — hope to see you soon!
