- They are mostly cool gifts from students all around the globe.

00:00:03 –> 00:00:08 Merry Christmas everyone, its Cindy Lietz your Polymer Clay Tutor, and I just wanna
00:00:08 –> 00:00:14 wish you a very Merry Christmas and a super happy holiday…no matter what holiday that
00:00:14 –> 00:00:17 you are celebrating right now.
00:00:17 –> 00:00:23 And I just wanted to thank you so much for the last year, it was fabulous, we learned
00:00:23 –> 00:00:25 a lot of great things together.
00:00:25 –> 00:00:32 We mixed colors, we made great projects and great beads and we’ve learnt so much from
00:00:32 –> 00:00:33 one another.
00:00:33 –> 00:00:38 And I’m really excited about 2015, I think it’s gonna be a very inspiring year, and we’re
00:00:38 –> 00:00:41 gonna learn a lot.
00:00:41 –> 00:00:49 I thought I would take an opportunity…everyone is so generous and so kind, and over the years,
00:00:49 –> 00:00:55 I’ve gotten some really neat gifts from some of the students, and from time to time, I’ve
00:00:55 –> 00:01:01 had people say what’s that thing sitting on top of the UV lamp or what’s that thing sitting
00:01:01 –> 00:01:02 on your window sill?
00:01:02 –> 00:01:06 And so I thought I would show you some of the neat gifts I’ve gotten, now, we’ll just
00:01:06 –> 00:01:09 start here at the front might as well.
00:01:09 –> 00:01:15 This first one here, which is one of the ones sitting on the UV lamp usually, is a Paper
00:01:15 –> 00:01:22 Weight that Claudia Rubenstein gave me, it’s a glass dome, it’s got some of her artwork
00:01:22 –> 00:01:29 in the back and some Polymer Clay around the sides, on the back and some crystals and things,
00:01:29 –> 00:01:34 it’s really lovely and it’s got this cool, whimsical look, you might have seen…we did
00:01:34 –> 00:01:41 a feature video on her, and she’s from Australia, and just such a creative person, she also
00:01:41 –> 00:01:47 gave me these art cards that were made with some of the paintings that she does, and you
00:01:47 –> 00:01:53 can see, she’s very colorful and flamboyant, as well as this tea towel, it’s a printed
00:01:53 –> 00:01:58 tea towel that is a copy of one of her paintings, it’s such a wonderful thing to have in my
00:01:58 –> 00:02:02 studio here with all the color and things.
00:02:02 –> 00:02:14 Also, from Australia, I got this wonderful Abalone shell from Marissa Marcolin, and she
00:02:14 –> 00:02:21 had seen the Faux Abalone tutorial, and she noticed I didn’t have an Abalone shell in
00:02:21 –> 00:02:29 my samples and sent me one all the way from Australia, and it’s just stunning…I taped
00:02:29 –> 00:02:33 her little note in there, it’s such a sweet little note, I taped it inside so that I would
00:02:33 –> 00:02:40 remember where it came from and her kindness, and it sits…and the sunlight sparkles right
00:02:40 –> 00:02:42 off of that.
00:02:42 –> 00:02:50 Also, from another person that was a guest here in the studio, these are some minerals
00:02:50 –> 00:02:57 from Bertha Adamson, she is from Colorado and she sent these, the minerals that they
00:02:57 –> 00:03:02 have in Colorado, and she sent them as an inspiration for maybe making some Faux Stone
00:03:02 –> 00:03:07 tutorials, and they’re really neat, they’re all kinds…and it’s the best way for me to
00:03:07 –> 00:03:12 make a Faux Stone is to look at the real thing, and there’s all kinds of neat ones in here,
00:03:12 –> 00:03:21 she also sent these little jars of crushed gemstones, this one happens to be like a Green
00:03:21 –> 00:03:28 Agate and she thought I could maybe use them as inclusions in some faux stones, I was thinking
00:03:28 –> 00:03:34 they might look great on one of those…on the Fairy Doors that we’re making, she sent
00:03:34 –> 00:03:42 some jars of that so I have to play with those soon, and she also sent a card with some photography
00:03:42 –> 00:03:49 of her own of these flowers, which is real pretty, and I just loved her note and spending
00:03:49 –> 00:03:53 the time with her it was great.
00:03:53 –> 00:03:58 Another person that we’ve spent quite a bit of time with was Cindy Peterson, she’s on
00:03:58 –> 00:04:03 a couple of…she’s from Oregon area, and we’ve been…seen her twice in a couple of
00:04:03 –> 00:04:09 road trips, and she sent me…I guess everyone realizes how much I love stones, but she gave
00:04:09 –> 00:04:18 me this piece of Quartz that just sparkles, it looks like a big chunk of ice, and also
00:04:18 –> 00:04:25 this piece of Pink Quartz here that I used as the base for my…to put some JOOLtool
00:04:25 –> 00:04:30 accessories on, so I have this cute little tree with this Pink Quartz base, she also
00:04:30 –> 00:04:40 gave me this funky necklace with the necktie design, the front part of it here is Polymer
00:04:40 –> 00:04:46 Clay with some mixed media pieces in around it and it’s done on a metal base which is
00:04:46 –> 00:04:54 quite cool looking, and then she also gave me this pendant here that has quite a similar
00:04:54 –> 00:04:59 look and feel to that other piece, you can always see somebody’s voice come through in
00:04:59 –> 00:05:01 their work.
00:05:01 –> 00:05:07 Also on this little stand here, here’s a…it’s a Christmas ornament/pendant depending on
00:05:07 –> 00:05:14 how you want to use it, and I got it in a Christmas ornament swap at the Vancouver Polymer
00:05:14 –> 00:05:20 Clay guild, and this was made by Ellen Kosher or Kausher…I’m not actually sure of her
00:05:20 –> 00:05:28 last name pronunciation, but it’s gorgeous it’s got an etched and antiqued Copper bezel
00:05:28 –> 00:05:35 with some Sterling Silver studs on it, and then its double sided, this side has like
00:05:35 –> 00:05:42 an embossed Christmas image on it, the other side, some metallic surface techniques that
00:05:42 –> 00:05:45 are quite cool looking.
00:05:45 –> 00:05:52 And this piece here, it’s not Polymer Clay but it’s a Peacock hair clip, and it’s
00:05:52 –> 00:05:59 from Jocelyn, some of you may know her as Blue Suede Shoe, and she sent it to me after
00:05:59 –> 00:06:06 the Peacock Cane…a tutorial that we did, and then when she saw this Peacock pin, she
00:06:06 –> 00:06:10 thought of me and sent it out, which it’s very sweet of her, she’s a complete sweetheart,
00:06:10 –> 00:06:12 she’s been around with us for a long time.
00:06:12 –> 00:06:21 This here is a bead I actually got in a…you know one of those bead blog giveaways years
00:06:21 –> 00:06:30 ago, this is from Heather Powers, it’s a Sea Urchin bead, and it is…Heather Powers is
00:06:30 –> 00:06:37 quite a well-known Polymer Clay artist, and she has a blog Art Bead Scene as well as Humble
00:06:37 –> 00:06:40 Beads, her stuff is wonderful.
00:06:40 –> 00:06:48 I got this neat card, she did the artwork on here and she made this funky little Polymer
00:06:48 –> 00:06:55 Clay heart, and her name was Susan Keen, she gave this to me years ago and I’ve always
00:06:55 –> 00:07:00 had it around, it’s such a whimsical and fun little memory from her.
00:07:00 –> 00:07:08 Oh what else did I miss…oh here is a pendant that is a resin pendant with some images and
00:07:08 –> 00:07:16 stuff inside, and this is from Roni, she also made this card here and she has a blog…it’s
00:07:16 –> 00:07:21 more of a scrapbooking blog, but I’ve learned a lot about inks and things from Roni, her
00:07:21 –> 00:07:31 blog is Ink Stained Roni, R-O-N-I, and she’s got some really neat information there. And
00:07:31 –> 00:07:36 lastly, now this isn’t the only present I got, but it’s the only one I have in the studio
00:07:36 –> 00:07:44 here, this is a present I got for my birthday from Karen Kay Cowger, who’s from Spokane,
00:07:44 –> 00:07:49 and she makes…she has been making Polymer Clay flowers, she’s been on the blog a couple
00:07:49 –> 00:07:56 of times, but she made all of these wonderful flowers for my birthday, and she’s got some
00:07:56 –> 00:08:07 Rhododendrons, a Stargazer Lily, some Roses, another Lily here, there’s a Columbine that
00:08:07 –> 00:08:13 she did and a gorgeous Peony, all nice and beautiful, her and her husband Dave also made
00:08:13 –> 00:08:21 me a really great wooden box with some Polymer Clay Dogwood flowers on it and stuff, it’s
00:08:21 –> 00:08:28 actually out in the trailer right now, I use it there when I’m doing the road trips, and
00:08:28 –> 00:08:32 it’s all been winterized, so I can’t get at the trailer right now to go to show it to
00:08:32 –> 00:08:35 you, but it’s really great.
00:08:35 –> 00:08:42 And another thing on my birthday this year, Becky Sue and Mark Mazzell, they gave us a
00:08:42 –> 00:08:47 beautiful bottle of wine to have with our dinner and of course we drank it, so I don’t
00:08:47 –> 00:08:54 have it here, it was a great time So I just wanted to share with you these wonderful gifts
00:08:54 –> 00:09:00 to show how generous you guys have been, you’ve not only been generous in gifts and things
00:09:00 –> 00:09:06 but also in your support and the kind things that you say to each other and to me on the
00:09:06 –> 00:09:10 blog and in our channel…on our channel.
00:09:10 –> 00:09:18 And I just wanted to thank you and I’m very grateful for all that you give and bring to
00:09:18 –> 00:09:22 the Polymer Clay community, so thank you very much.
00:09:22 –> 00:09:28 And I am really looking forward to the next year, if you have anything that you would
00:09:28 –> 00:09:33 like to learn this year and you think I could try to squeeze it in for you, then make sure
00:09:33 –> 00:09:38 to put that in the comment section below, love to hear from you.
00:09:38 –> 00:09:44 So have a fantastic rest of the holiday and we will see you next time, bye for now.
